Recommended For: Destination Paint recommends Benjamin Moore
Impervex Latex High Gloss Metal & Wood Enamel 309 for both exterior and interior metal and wood surfaces. Ideal for use on surfaces such as steel, wrought iron, aluminum, galvanized metal, furniture; cabinets; trim, walls, and ceilings; doors, shutters, and railings. Not for use on floors or exterior siding.
Surface Preparation Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of water soluble materials, grease, wax, scaling paint, rust and mildew. Glossy areas must be dulled by abrading the surface. Protected exterior areas such as eaves, ceilings and overhangs should be washed with detergent solution and rinsed with a strong stream of water from a garden hose to remove surface salts that can interfere with proper adhesion. Spot-prime patched and spackled areas. When dry, apply an overall priming coat as specified below.
Mildew: If mildew is present, it must be removed by scrubbing with a commercial mildew wash, or it will continue to grow through the fresh coating. If mildew is widespread, the use of power wash equipment is suggested. CAUTION: Use rubber gloves, work goggles, and protective clothing when applying mildew wash. Follow manufacturer’s directions.
Difficult Substrates: Benjamin Moore offers a number of specialty primers for use over difficult substrates such as bleeding woods, grease stains, crayon markings, hard glossy surfaces, galvanized metal, or other substrates where paint adhesion or stain suppression is a particular problem. Destination Paint can recommend the right problem-solving primer for your special needs.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator to control lead exposure. Carefully clean up with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by contacting the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.
Application Mixing of Paint: Stir thoroughly before and during use. Apply one or two coats. For best results, use a premium BENJAMIN MOORE custom-blended nylon/polyester brush, premium BENJAMIN MOORE roller, or a similar product. Apply paint generously from unpainted area into wet area. This product can also be sprayed.
Spray, Conventional: Thin as needed with small amounts of clean water. Spray, Airless: Fluid Pressure — 1,500 to 2,500 PSI; Tip .011 - .015 Orifice
Thinning/Cleanup Thinning is unnecessary, but if required to obtain desired application properties, a small amount of clean water may be added. Never add other paints or solvents. Wash painting tools in warm soapy water immediately after use. Spray equipment should be given a final rinse with mineral spirits to prevent rusting.
USE COMPLETELY OR DISPOSE OF PROPERLY. Dry, empty containers may be recycled in a can recycling program. Local disposal requirements vary, consult your sanitation department or state-designated environmental agency on disposal options.

Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged or repeated contact with skin. Avoid exposure to dust and spray mist by wearing a NIOSH approved respirator during application, sanding and clean up.
